It’s amazing that more properly-crafted female-female relationships are emerging within mainstream literature. What is not so amazing is male authors using female-female relationships for the fulfilment of their male protagonist’s desires. If you ever see Haruki Murakami’s Sputnik Sweetheart in a bookshop, I recommend leaving it firmly on the shelf!
