I think it takes having money to be able to decide you don’t need more money. If you’ve ever been so poor that you can’t afford to eat, it’s really difficult to get out of that desperate mindset. It’s taken me almost ten years to break that mindset and start to relax, and even now I continue to hoard and hide money from myself, just in case something happens and I risk being in that position again.

That said, it’s so important to find a job you can be creative in. Allowing the working classes time away from the capitalist machine so that they can fulfil their creative human potential is the central idea behind Marxism.
